Craft Brewers Have Fun With April Fool’s Day Gags

So today is April Fool’s Day.  I’m honestly quite a bit more excited about the fact that it’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball, but I’ll admit I’ve been enjoying the gags sent out by craft breweries around the nation.  Here’s some of our favorites that we’ve seen so far.

Great Divide’s Yeti is pumped to be the next seasonal.

Out in California, The Bruery’s launched “The Ticker’s Growler”, which is a 2 oz. growler designed specifically to meet the needs of those obsessed with checking into and rating beers on popular sites like BeerAdvocate, RateBeer and Untappd.

CraftCans announced that InBev plans on paying tribute to craft breweries by printing images of popular canned craft brews on the back of their Bud Light cans.  Don’t worry macro lovers, there’s still Bud Light on the inside…

CraftCans later gave a review of Oskar Blues new BA-CAN-ATED Dale’s Pale Ale, brewed with bacon of course.

The Rare Barrel, a tiny, all-sour brewery in California, announced they’ll be opening not one, but two, massive, 50,000 square foot locations on the east coast in Maine and Florida.  More details on their blog.

These are good for a few laughs, but you never know.  Anybody remember Wynkoop’s Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout idea from last year?

That went from clever joke to store shelves in under a year, even making its way onto National TV.  Who knows, we may be closer to “The Ticker Growler” than you think.
