A Look Back at What The Funk!? 2015

wtf 15-3

What The Funk. What to say? I challenge you to find a better collection of Sour, Wild, and Barrel Aged beers in town. I can happily say that every single beer I tried was good, if not great, which is something I can’t say about very many, if any beer festivals. While everyone had a different experience at this year’s festival, ours was a very positive one.

We took the approach of quickly tracking down a few rarities on our wish list such as Side Project’s Pulling Nails and The Rare Barrel’s Home Sour Home. From there, we turned our focus towards the breweries with no lines and no hype, unearthing some really interesting, under-the-radar beers that were new to us. We were pleasantly surprised by Perennial’s 4 Happiness BA Quad, Fremont’s Brew 1000 Barleywine and the entire lineup of wild ales from Colorado’s own Powder Keg Brewing. More than beers, we enjoyed the company, the camaraderie and the opportunity to catch up with some people we hadn’t seen for waaaaay too long.

We’re in the thick of GABF Week and there’s so much to be thankful for. If you’re like us and enjoyed your WTF!? experience, we hope to see you next year. If you have a different opinion, we respect that. In the meantime, we encourage you to check our GABF Calendar, regroup and go grab a beer at any of the other hundreds of events in town this week.

Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments from last night.
