Bacon and Beer Festival 2015 Recap

Bacon. Beer. It happened again. This past weekend, the 4th Annual Denver Bacon and Beer Festival came to The Glitter Dome in RiNo. The celebration of all things pertaining to the pig has become a favorite event of ours and Sunday’s festival was serious business.

As we walked in, I could almost feel the grease in the air as it engulfed me, weaving its way into my clothes and pores, luring me in with its sweet swine song. I can only wish that the smell sticks with me for a few more days. At least until I can track down bacon-scented deodorant or beard oil.

The tremendous lineup of local restaurants and breweries served up plenty of creative, salty, sow inspired creations. Bacon. Bacon Hash. Bacon Soup. Bacon Brownies. Bacon Cupcakes. Bacon Sliders. Bacon Garnishes. Bacon Donuts. Kevin Bacon. Bacon Beer. Bacon Custard. Bacon and Peanut Butter. Forgive me if I sound like Bubba from Forest Gump, but my eyes were as big as hogs on Sunday, taking in the variety of ways bacon can be prepared. It was magical and nearly brought a tear to my eye.

Here’s a look at a few of the sights from Sunday’s fest. Warning, the following images are NSFW.

Forgive me bacon, but I was unaware of your depth and beauty. All too often I just throw you in a pan while listening to your sweet sizzling sounds. I didn’t mean to take you for granted. Had I known the many levels you had or that you could be prepared in so many different ways, I would have bought you more often, or maybe signed up for Tender Belly’s Bacon of the Month Club. Hopefully it’s not too late. I Love You Bacon. Call me.

Cheers!
